The story

Where Aqualand came from — and why it’s here

Aqualand Real Estate, LLC started in the Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood area, where the name made sense — “aqua” for the water that defines South Florida, “land” for the real estate. The tagline wrote itself: If it’s Florida… it’s Aqualand.

When my parents began to need more support as they got older, I made a decision that a lot of people think about but fewer actually make — I relocated to be closer to them. St. Johns County felt like the right place, and so the brokerage followed. That was several years ago. I’m still here, still close to my parents, and still doing the work I’ve done since 2004.

The focus has always been on buyers and sellers in St. Johns and Duval Counties — with particular attention to Saint Augustine’s 32092 zip code and the surrounding communities that make up one of Florida’s most active real estate markets. The new construction boom here has sharpened that focus considerably. There’s a significant gap between what buyers think they’re getting when they walk into a model home and what they’re actually getting — and filling that gap honestly is most of what I do now.

Before real estate I worked at a major publicly-traded conglomerate and spent time in corporate environments and small businesses alike. I’ve also held a mortgage broker license, written for publications including DeeperBlue Magazine, and spent over two decades volunteering with ocean conservation and efforts to combat homelessness. I’m equally comfortable talking with a CEO or a first-time buyer, discussing rate cycles or explaining what “fiduciary” actually means in plain language. The range is wide. The standard is the same.

I drive a 2010 Tahoe and have never spent more than $150 on a pair of shoes. I mention that not as a point of pride but as a useful signal — I’m not going to perform affluence for you, and I’m not going to pretend a deal is better than it is because the commission is appealing. What you see is what you get.
